Adding Impactia to your SPF Record

Share this

What is SPF and why do I need it?

  • Whenever an outbound message is sent from your domain through a server that is not officially associated with it (in your official DNS records), there is a chance that the recipient’s server will treat that message suspiciously and tag it as spam.

  • To avoid your Impactia routed messages from being tagged as spam, a small configuration addition/modification to your external DNS entries is required.

How to add / create SPF record

  1. Login to your domain hots account.
    If you don’t know where your domain is hosted, you can find out on who.is under “Register”.

  2. Go to DNS records.

  3. If you don’t have an SPF record, create a new TXT record with the value “v=spf1 include:impactia.com ~all”.

  4. If you have an existing record, add the value include:impactia.com to the existing record. For example here is record with 2 values:
    v=spf1 include:_spf.google.com include:impactia.com ~all

5. Check the SPF tool again after a 3-4 hours to validate the change
